Medical science has changed a lot with advancements in scienceand technology. However women health issues are fast growing in today’s competitive world due to ignorance and unavailability of information and resources. Rural and urban women face different issues according to their environments. According to a World Health Organization report, 1.6 million people die in rural India due to smoke produced while cooking food using the tradition cooking method of burning dry wood, out of which 0.4 to 0.55 million are women and children. This number is more than the deaths due to unavailability of clean drinking water cleanliness and hygiene facilities. 50% of such deaths could be avoided by providing clean drinking water, cleanliness of surroundings, proper ventilations in houses, building toilets, prevention of contagious diseases and treatment of menstruation related issues of women.
